There is No "H" In Yankovic

For some reason, a large number of people pronounce and spell Al's name incorrectly, this bugs the hardcore dedicated Al fan to no end.

Some people actually spell weird wrong, they try to spell it the "right" way by following the rules of the English language, the "I before E except after C" bit, but weird breaks that rule, lots of words break grammar rules.

As far as his name goes, his first name is Alfred, but call him Al, that's easier. His last name ends with "k" sound, not a "ch" sound. There is no "h" in Yankovic.

To quote Devo Spice from the song "Weird Al Didn't Write this Song"

The stupidity of people on the internet is astounding! People on file sharing sites often will tag funny songs by OTHER people as if it was a song by Weird Al, I've also seen people on YouTube INSIST that a song labeled as "Weird Al" was an Al song, when it's VERY obvious it is not. If the song has language in it, that might be considered not family friendly, it IS NOT an Al song, Al's songs are always clean and mostly family friendly, that's how he's always been. Just because it's funny, doesn't mean it's an Al song! Take it from a fan who has owned almost evey Al-bum even some on cassette, so I would know if it wasn't Al.

I mentioned Devo Spice above, but besides him and Al, there are a lot of musicians, and bands that have come before, long before, and continue to appear even after "Weird Al" In fact, his own band "Al's Band" has recorded their own songs, without Al.

There are lots of places where you can find funny music on the net. The Dr. Demento Show where many funny musicians got their start, is still around. Dr. Demento has a large collection of novelty records dating way back, as well as lots of current stuff, like the artists from The FuMP.
